Municipal wastewater treatment plants

Construction and modernisation of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants is our core business direction which we are highly experienced in and in relation to which we have the longest list of credentials. We design and build systems with different daily capacity, from small rural wastewater treatment plants to large municipal ones with a capacity of several thousand m3/d.

We implement advanced, proven and innovative technologies, placing special focus towards development of biological processes, including in particular dephosphatation, denitrification and nitrification. We offer tailor-made solutions to our customers and that is why we always begin with identifying the current situation and future needs of the investor or facility user. Before we present the concept of investment execution, we collect opinions of relevant institutions and specialists, and carry out pre-project site visits, studies and analyses to finally learn opinions of independent experts and close the stage with either of the following, as appropriate:

  • technical audit,
  • technical and process audit,
  • power engineering audit,
  • economic and financial audit.

We actively participate in development of financial engineering of the projects we execute. We search for optimum sources of funding, and guarantee proper allocation of the acquired funds as well as their most effective payment. The potential of our company allows that we take full responsibility of achieving the technological effect which directly affects the investment success.

Sludge management

Large quantities of primary and excess sludge, fats and other substances separated or supplied to the treatment plant are the side products of wastewater treatment. They need to be disposed of and prepared for end management. In small and compact wastewater treatment stations sludge is thickened and drained to be further composted or mixed with lime to create high-quality fertiliser for soil recultivation or agricultural use.

For large metropolises we propose sludge co-fermentation together with other municipal or industrial organic waste, which was collected selectively and prepared using ANADI SLUDGE method. Biogas production and cogeneration systems provide power and heat for the plant. The quantity of the generated power can satisfy up to 100% of power demand for wastewater plant operation.

We use a process of two- or three-step thermophilic-mesophilic fermentation which ensures complete sludge stabilisation after fermentation and obtaining of Class A certificate (according to the standards of the EU and American Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)). It means we can offer organic and mineral preparation intended for agriculture and landscaping purposes.

Municipal waste management

Our activities related to solid municipal waste management include developing management programmes, engineering and technological concepts for solid waste disposal plants, selective waste collection programmes and municipal waste management by building municipal waste segregation systems, structures and plants. The main focus of our solution is put towards optimisation and minimisation of the stream of waste sent to landfills.

Long-lasting and comprehensive solutions help to create a visual effect of a clean city in almost no time. We prefer solutions that enable maximum management of collected waste, which include:

  • secondary (recyclable) raw materials,
  • RDF,
  • organic fraction for fermentation,
  • mineral fraction to be used in the building sector or for municipal landfill operation purposes

Post-fermentation product management is based on similar principles as in the ANADI SLUDGE technology, i.e. agricultural, industrial and natural application. We promote and implement circular waste management policy. Its objective is to use solid waste to the greatest extent possible and to recover relevant proportions of resources from a mixed stream:

  • recycled materials (15-20%) – plastics, glass, metal and other recycled materials;
  • organic waste (25-35%) – energy and organic-mineral fertiliser recovery using ANADI ORGANICS and BIOSORT ADVANCED technologies;
  • fuel from waste (15-25%) – energy recovery from inorganic waste which cannot be recycled; the process is based on gasification or combustion;
  • mineral fraction (10%-20%) – treated sufficiently to be used in the building sector or stored in a landfill (10%-20%).


There are various systems of municipal waste and transport methods used worldwide. The most recommended solutions are based on selective waste collection “at source”. In areas with low level of environmental awareness/education, we propose a simplified “DRY-WET” system. The method divides waste into the following two groups:

  • WET – organic waste: food, organic waste, green waste,
  • DRY – recyclable raw materials: paper, cardboard, plastics, clothes, glass, etc.

Renewable energy from biogas

We offer advanced, innovative technologies which allow for production of biogas that can be used in the following areas:

  • households,
  • power plants,
  • heat generation plants/ boiler houses,
  • heat and power cogeneration facilities,
  • as engine fuel.



We provide a full range of services in the area of environmental protection. We specialise in completion of difficult tasks which require individual approach, experience and specialised process knowledge.
The services we offer include:

  • consulting and designing,
  • technical designing, production and delivery of process equipment, systems and lines,
  • renovations and modernisations of existing wastewater plants,
  • turnkey execution of facilities,
  • installation, supervision of installation and service of any wastewater plant equipment, including automation systems,
  • process commissioning, start-ups and early operation.

Different financing models

We execute projects using different financial models and products:

  • execution of “turnkey” contracts financed by international financial institutions such as European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, European Union etc.,
  • financing by the government and local governments,
  • tied loans of the Polish government for developing countries within the OECD policy, with interest rate below 1-2% for financing of projects strategic for Poland,
  • own investments execute as Public-Private Partnership using low-interest rate loan of Polish Export Bank BGK with KUKE insurance.


We help to organise financing of infrastructural project with a delivery of process systems and equipment within Public-Private Partnership. The projects assume about 30% of the investor’s (contracting party’s) contribution while the remaining 70% is supported by a loan from the Polish Export Bank BGK and own contribution of EKOLOG and Partners. The return on investment is ensured during several or several dozen years operation of a facility whose main revenue comes from power generated in the plant.

The financing conditions are established on an individual basis:

  • the interest rate does not exceed 6% a year, depending on the financial condition of the investor,
  • grace period 6 months from commissioning of the plant,
  • loan repayment period up to 15 years.

Conditions of the loans are negotiated on an individual basis.
